If you continuously allow an automatic car wash to kill your paint, there may be a point where it is not repairable anymore. These are stripping away your vehicles clear coat and in come cases, stripping paint all the way to the metal. Any prolonged use at a car wash will result in scratches and swirls. This is great for cheap washes but horrible for your vehicles paint. One of the big things that automatic car washes sell is memberships. That being said, if you really want to get a long lasting coating that is worth the money, we would not recommend the automatic car wash. The first three terms are all describing the same product. You are barely getting a wax, just a single wash wax that lasts 2 weeks at max. You are not getting ceramic or a polish or a sealant. It looks like their boss told them “add as many catchy words as possible.” In doing so though, they have falsely advertised what you are truly getting. But thats all.Let’s look at this from a marketers perspective. PS: once i had a new MB A-class with very nice finish, and after my 3rd carwash (automated) i saw microscrathes. Me personaly buy lightly used, and drive it til ODO hits 150k miles (24k european), and every 3years i polish it up (depending on what needs to be done. The more you pay for a paint 800USD/1400USD - the more "thickness" it will have, and more difficult to scratch it.The third would be the thing someone touched before - how much do you care about esthetics.

I have worked with car washes couple of years and can give you an insight. The thing is - say you wash your car "wrong" (use the same sponge for wheels as you do for the paint), or use only one bucket with dishwashing soap etc.will give you same outcome as if you used 10x carwashes (automatic ones). The point of this is, as long as you wash your car by hand the right way, you will see differance (compared to auto).Second one is, the paint price. I've been using that tunnel car wash for a couple years now. I also noticed the car wash was being used by people with cars 3x more expensive than my Volvo. However it was 80% cheaper than from the detailing car wash and 6x faster.

The car came out cleaner than from a wand wash but a bit worse than from detailing. My friend said he uses the tunnel wash nearby and he had a more expensive car than my S60. One time my car was super dirty, so much it was shameful to drive it :) My detailing was was fully booked for a couple weeks. It was a pain in the ass to maintain with no tangible returns and now I feel it's in the same venue as gold audio cables ) I decided not to apply another ceramic coating after the first couple years and just waxed the car with a hard wax. After the second year they said it was all gone and the water flows like on non-coated cars. I found it ridiculous and at that point my belief in ceramic coating was shattered. At that time I also learned how they check it - basically it's mostly pouring water over the car and observing the patterns. I checked my ceramic coating after the first year and it was supposedly still there. I was a bit paranoid about it, went only to a detailing car wash for the first couple years and used a wand wash a few times when my car was very dirty and the detailing wash was fully booked. I got myself talked into having ceramic coating applied to it. I bought a used 2 year old S60 from a dealership.

TL DR +1 from me, I've been using a tunnel wash for a couple years
